Chocolate Train
Add an extra touch of sweetness to your Swiss holiday
Beautiful scenery and tasty, world-famous chocolate make for an unforgettable experience as you travel on the Swiss Chocolate train. Your trip begins in Montreaux on the Swiss Riviera then takes you by train to Gruyeres, home to the renowned Gruyeres cheese. While there you’ll visit a cheesemaking factory then go to Gruyeres Castle after which you will have free time to explore and have lunch on your own. Then it’s onward to Broc for a visit to the Cailler-Nestle chocolate factory where you’ll gnosh on delicious and delectable treats.
Travel in old-fashioned elegance by train in a vintage Pullman “Belle Epoque” carriage or go ultramodern in a sleek panoramic car with oversized windows. Either way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the vineyards that surround Montreaux and medieval Gruyeres. You’ll savor both the heavenly chocolate samples at the Nestle factory and the views of Lake Gruyeres and the Alps, which surround the factory.
This daylong excursion runs Monday through Friday during the summer months of July and August and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in June, September and October. Rail Europe can help you book this flavorful, scenic journey.
